The A148 — the north coast
Second-home country, and the part of Norfolk where the approach is easy and the last two hundred yards are not.
What this road does to a move
The A148 itself is unremarkable. What makes this corridor different is everything after you leave it: the coast road and the lanes running north off it are narrow, hedged, and in the villages barely wider than a vehicle.
It is also seasonal in a way no other part of the county is. In the summer months the coast villages are full, the verges are parked solid, and a full-size vehicle cannot turn where it could turn in the winter.
We plan coast moves around that rather than against it, and where a village is genuinely impassable we stage at Holt or Fakenham and shuttle in.

Flint-and-brick cottages, a great many of them second homes or holiday lets, plus the Georgian and Victorian stock in Holt and Cromer. Cottages are small, stairs are steep and narrow, and rooms are often reached through other rooms rather than off a landing.
